Meridian G98 DVD Audio Player
The G98 DVD-Audio transport plays audio CDs, MP3 CDs, Video CDs, DVD-Video, and DVD-Audio discs. It can decode Dolby Digital, DTS, MPEG, MP3, and MLP data streams to PCM for stereo playback. And it can output Dolby Digital, DTS, and MPEG bitstreams for connection to a surround controller such as the G68, for which the G98 is an ideal companion.
Two versions of the G98 are available, the G98AH with analogue outputs, and the G98DH with digital interfacing, though both have basic digital outputs in addition. The G98AH and G98DH provide fixed-level multichannel or two-channel audio outputs. They are designed for use with a surround controller with multichannel analogue (G98AH) or digital (G98DH) inputs. Alternatively, either model can be connected to a pair of DSP loudspeakers to create a complete high-quality two-channel DVD system.

Meridian G68 Digital Surround Controller
The G68 builds on the technology that went into Meridian’s flagship, AAA-rated 861 surround processor. It is a powerful, flexible surround controller with an AM/FM tuner built-in, and represents the centrepiece of the G Series range, with multiple variants available to suit a wide range of applications.
At the heart of the G68 is a powerful DSP en-gine consisting of five Motorola 56367s running at 150MHz – delivering an incredible 750MIPS (million instructions per second). Processing is performed at high sample rates and with 48-bit precision throughout, ensuring that all filtering, processing and other operations are carried out far, far above the limits of human hearing. The G68 is thus a perfect processor for the very lat-est in digital audio and video, such as DVD-Au-dio and DVD-Video. For superior audio quality, incoming analogue signals are converted to 24-bit, high-sample-rate digital data via multibit Delta-Sigma converters as soon as they enter the processor, and all digital signals are reclocked to minimize jitter and maintain total data integrity.
